Parliament should pass the Bill for tribal land allocation (IIPM Publication)

Conservation activists argue that these tribal families will destroy whatever is left of Indian forests. Far from it, empirical evidence shows that property rights are the strongest incentive for protection and sustenance of assets. In fact, in every experiment where tribal groups have been given land and usage rights, the forest cover has gone up. Common sense dictates the tribal is best qualified to protect forests. It is their home, after all.
